Dr. Kelsey Keverline is a resident physician in Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences. She is originally from Pittsburgh, PA. She earned her undergraduate degree in Public Policy at the University of Virginia and attended medical school at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Her academic interests include gynecologic oncology, reproductive justice, and healthcare disparities for Spanish-speaking patients. Outside of work, she enjoys overly complicated board games and knitting socks.

Emma Rommelfanger is a medical student at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She completed her undergraduate education at UC Santa Barbara, earning a BS in Biology. Emma is interested in fertility outcomes for oncology patients and is also involved in research on breastfeeding education and outcomes. In her free time Emma enjoys practicing yoga, baking, and spending time outdoors.

Anika Christofferson is a medical student at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She earned her BS in Human Biology from Stanford University in 2019. She is interested in oncofertility, advocacy for women’s health outcomes, and cancer prevention. During her leisure time, she enjoys running, practicing yoga, baking, and traveling.

Dr. Ksenya Shliakhtsitsava is a UT Southwestern physician with the Cancer and Blood Disorder Program at Children’s Health. Dr. Ksenya earned her Medical Degree at the Belarusian State Medical University in Minsk, Belarus, in 2006, and after completing her residency in her home country, she relocated to the United States. She then completed her residency in General Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco-Fresno, in 2014, followed by Pediatric Hematology/Oncology fellowship training at the University of California, San Diego, in 2017. Additionally, in 2018, Dr. Ksenya completed a master’s program in clinical research at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Ksenya is a full member of the Children’s Oncology Group, taking care of patients with cancer and passionate about fertility preservation and survivorship care. She is interested in studying late effects in pediatric cancer survivors, educating patients and families, and helping patients with cancer navigate treatment and survivors adjust to life after cancer treatment.

Lourdes Murcia is the current Assistant Director and Lead Patient Navigator at the Cancer Resource Center of the Desert. In 2023, she received her Master’s degree in Social Work from SDSU and participated in a Global Health Education program at Oaxaca, Mexico. She has collaborated as a research assistant with Dr. Su in different projects including survivorship care and financial navigation focused in Oncology. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and listening to good music.

Milagro D. JeanMarie-Tucker is a medical student at the UC San Diego School of Medicine. She completed her undergraduate education at Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelor of Science in Health & Human Sciences. Milagro is interested in Obstetrics/Gynecology, public health, health equity, sexual and reproductive health, and advocacy for those from underserved communities. Outside of research, she enjoys trying new restaurants and experiences around the city with friends, watching tiny home videos, and doing yoga.

Ricardo Flores Ortega is a Clinical Research Coordinator at UC San Diego in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He received his Master of Public Health from the University of California, San Diego, and has been working with Dr. Irene Su since 2021. He enjoys traveling, studying foreign languages, and dancing.

Dr. Blanca Equihua is a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center. She received her Medical Degree and Master of Science in Medical Sciences Degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, Faculty of Medicine and Psychology Tijuana, in Mexico. Blanca is dedicated to people-centered innovation and leverages her fluency in Spanish and knowledge of adult medicine to collaborate with various organizations on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border as an advisor, guest speaker, researcher, and mentor. In 2023, she joined Dr. Irene Su’s team. Outside of her professional commitments, Blanca enjoys reading, hiking, exploring global cuisines, and participating in volunteer activities within her community.

Nguyen Do is a medical student at the UC San Diego School of Medicine. He completed his undergraduate studies at UC San Diego, earning a BS in Human Biology with a minor in psychology. Nguyen is passionate about Obstetrics/Gynecology and reproductive health, LGBT health, and health advocacy for immigrant communities. Outside of his professional interests, he enjoys making art, traveling, and spending time with his dogs and cat.

Helen Palomino is the CEO of Cancer Resource Center of the Desert. She received her MSW from San Diego State University in 2008. Mrs. Palomino continues to bringed the gasps to cancer care in her community and remains committed to working with researchers in raising awareness of Latino cancer health disparities. In her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with family and two Rottweilers, listening to podcasts, and enjoys good Mexican food.
